Dear Alumni Member:
Overbrook’s Board of Trustees is soliciting nominations for the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award. This is the only award that the Board gives out on a yearly basis.
Please consider nominating a person you know who meets the criteria for the award. Anyone who has attended Overbrook School for the Blind is eligible. The person could have attended through elementary school and graduated from a different high school. Having a diploma or certificate from Overbrook is not a requirement.
Criteria on which the nominee will be chosen are as follows:
The nominee shall have shown unusual success and achievement in his/her chosen career; an/or
The nominee shall have shown unusual courage, persistence or imagination in overcoming multiple physical or cognitive handicaps and/or
The nominee shall have made a significant contribution to society on a local, state, national or international level; and/or
The nominee shall have made a significant non-monetary contribution to Overbrook School for the Blind or the lives of the students of Overbrook School, or the disabled generally.
Please know that the nominee must meet one or more of the above. Nominations may be made by submitting a nominating letter with supporting material (such as a resume) to the Board of Trustees, in care of Todd Reeves, Executive Director, Overbrook School for the Blind, 6333 Malvern Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19151 no later than Friday, April 22, 2022.
The Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented at the Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. in the Overbrook Auditorium.
